The Food Nanny
I was so excited to go that I just jumped in the car with my good friend and left. No money, no camera, and no pen and paper. The Food Nanny (Liz Edmunds) spoke to us for over an hour. She is cuter in person than even on the show. She has tons of energy and passion about the importance of family dinnertime. Her voice does not sound like it often does on the show either. (that comment is mostly for my husband) She talked about living in New York where the idea of menu planning came about. She talked about her successes and how she had to learn how to cook things she never had before. She talked about her children and the tradition she made of being together for dinnertime. She explained how the idea of her book came about the people who helped her along the way. She made pizza dough and French baguettes. I enjoyed the whole evening. I went up to me her and she gave me a couple tips for picky eaters and then told me where to go and find more ideas. I was telling my friend when she picked me up that I was going to try a better attitude and more positive comments with a certain child I love. Last night he said to me "I am being such a good eater, huh?" I love her concept and it is exactly what I use to organize my menu so yes, I am a Food Nanny fan.
