sick day

So it was a sick day yesterday...and Trevor decided that it would be great to do a craft. It was a great idea and I told him he could do whatever craft he thought of. I also mentioned that I would not be participating in the craft except to admire whatever he came up with. Did you see the photos? He came downstairs and said he made a mini city upstairs and to come see. A couple favs...the millionaire home sign, the museum/be quiet sign (slightly covering the no smoking sign in red ink still on his door), and the Walmart sign which I found to be hilarious. Plus, I forgot to take a picture of the post office which has paper and envelopes in front the sign so you can write a letter and put it in people's mailboxes that were also made by Trevor. Some people (ME) lay on the couch when they are sick and other people (Trevor) build a mini city and leave nice letters in other's mailboxes.

February Birthdays

Thinking of Carson, Brody, and my cousin Dave. We met Carson at Trevor's 2nd Birthday Party.(Fall 2002) We liked him right away and have ever since. He married Eric's sister Ashley the following summer. It was fun to think of all the time that has gone by (really? almost 8 years?) and all the fun times together. Since Carson loves and knows how to make really good pasta we are passing along one of our new favorites. Photos from Christmas this year and from their wedding day. Hope everyone enjoyed their birthdays!

What a Valentine will do

Posted by Picasa

Don't these look beautiful? This post is for Keli who saw me pouring over the Martha Stewart cupcake book and said "You should make those and send me a picture" Here you go. Let me just say that Eric, my valentine, made the sugar crowns because I got frustrated. Cupcakes. Fine. Frosting. Fine. Sugar Crowns. Hard. Hard for me. Keli, thanks for the challenge. Hope you don't mind that with a team effort, the cupcakes were successful. Made these on Tuesday, but loaded photos today. We do really eat more than just cupcakes. Recipe for this cupcake & other "real" food coming soon.

Valentines Cupcakes

This is a thank you to my parents and Eric's parents. They both sent Valentine's packages and so we used the cupcake holders and sent them away on the Valentine's plates. Picture not with the plate because I couldn't get it to look right. In fact this is the best I could do. These are delicious! I made these before with just cream cheese frosting, but with the cinnamon added...Yum. In all my excitment of trying new things, the first time I made them I even delivered them to my friend Michelle who is allergic to bananas. Sorry about that.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Recipe coming soon.

Trevor

Trevor did very well in Festival this year. I was so proud knowing how it feels to be so nervous and yet go up there in front of the judges and do it. The recording isn't that awesome and has entertainer Ty Ty in it but it gives you a glimpse. Plus the other recordings wouldn't come up. Yea Trevor!

Love notes

I know some of you are already doing this, but it really is wonderful. You get a post-it notepad and put a pen by it. Go and write a note to someone you love and put it where they will find it. We started last Sunday and it has been so fun. Trevor wrote to Ty Ty "Thanks a lot for eating all the bread". As you may know we buy 8 loaves of bread a week because Tyler loves bread. Trevor is a sweet brother and has written one to every person in our family every day. I opened the fridge to a note and found another one on my camera. Feeling the love because of a post-it.

Amy George

Okay, I have to write this. I know...enough already with that many posts in a day...BUT I MUST. Guess who called me today? Oh yes, my dearest friend from high school. Amy George. I loved that she called. Nothing like the afternoon laughing and talking about the old times and catching up with the new. It makes me happy to hear all her good news. Plus, she is in the 3 boys club too. This picture is on the day of her wedding. In trying to complete my 10th anniversary album I have enjoyed looking at all the photos from the past. Eric drove me to Logan and played with Trevor while I attended Amy's wedding. Thanks for the call Amy!

Connections

I heard that Rabbi Rosen was coming to speak and I was so excited. He was my professor in Israel. I enjoyed learning from him, meeting his family, and celebrating Jewish holidays. I couldn't wait to hear his voice and his message. He was so eloquent and passionate about his message of hope for his country. I rushed up afterwards to say hello. He is now the proud grandfather of 4 and all are well in his family. I also was able to say hello to Jeffrey Chadwick and Sister Madsen. He gave an incredible tribute to Truman Madsen as the introduction to his message. I loved making this connection. My friend Amanda went with me and even though we lived in Israel at different times we still had so many similiar memories.
The picture of me in Jerusalem will give Amanda something to smile about
(not laugh at) and the other photo is from the lecture.

So Ty Ty

In true picture of the day fashion this is Tyler with his music. Here is our conversation.
"Mom, can I write my own music?"
"Sure."
"Mom, come see the first part of my song."
He continues humming and then looks up and asks, "Mom, will you come to my concert tonight?"

As you can see so Ty Ty

I can't wait to see Eric's pictures from the last couple of days since he got to stay with the Millards and visit the Kennedys. Jealous.

Project Life and Such

I have favorite scrapbookers, but am only going to mention two...Becky Higgins and Stacy Julian. They both are super talented and inspire others in lots of areas outside of scrapbooking. Becky Higgins new scrapbook Project Life is similiar to Project 365. Basically take a picture everyday and write about it. (POTD otherwise known as Picture of the Day) This captures the reality of the life you live. Even though I got a bit behind in 365, I love the concept. Thanks to my mom I am now enjoying Project Life. It is available now on Amazon. Stacy Julian likes to make connections between here and now. She likes to scrapbook in categories such as the people we love, the places we go, and the things we do. I love that there really are so many connections to the past, or to a place, or to a certain memory. That's why so many people ask "Do you know so-and-so?" OR "do you remember when...?" I can't wait to see what Becky and Stacy do next.

Valentine's Day is coming up. The movie Valentine's Day is coming out. I know nothing about the movie, but the soundtrack is incredible. My valentine is out of town right now and I can't wait for him to get back. This photo was taken when I went home with Eric ENGAGED! Good times remembered...good times ahead.
