Weekend Fun

Eric's parents arrived on Thursday evening.  We had dinner and the boys went off to play baseball.  The girls stayed home and talked.  Friday, Eric's parents spoiled the boys with a day of fun for Trey and then friends, out to eat, over to BYU for ice cream and whatever else those "Party-ers"  decided to to.  The boys definitely enjoyed themselves and so did we.  It was great fun to spend the whole day together.  Sat we went to look at phones so I could join this century and to deliver some birthday cupcakes.  Trevor off to baseball tryouts, got our tickets for Tyler's volcano show, and then a relaxing night at home.  Well, I think most eveyone was relaxed. Sunday we went to our ward and Eric was made the new Bishop. I was so thrilled Todd, Kelsey, and Storm came. I was excited that Carson, Ashley, Jaxon, Madi, and Ava came too.   I just felt so much better after it was announced and I spoke and sat down.  It was really great that Eric's parents were here.  It was special for our boys and special for us.  Hope everyone else had a fun weekend!

Lucky

I am lucky because

I am married to Eric.
I have three awesome boys.
I have my parents, brothers, and sister and their families to love.
I have Eric's parents and family to love.
I have dear and compassionate friends.

I could on and on but I won't.  Have a lucky day!

Brandon Mull

What kind of mother would I be if I didn't continue on with the tradition of going to the Launch Party for Brandon Mulls latest book?  I mean I used the word tradition.  (You know like something you do year after year)  If your children like to read, like Star Wars, like glow sticks, like Harry Potter, like to have late nights, like to eat out, or like to laugh this is the place to go.  It was hilarious as usual.  Shannon Hale and her husband were the MC's and all of these other authors were invited too.  There was a funny skit with the authors in a mock therapy group,  "What guys do when girl aren't around" skit, Katniss from Hunger Games dating game, and on and on.  It was Tyler's first time to a Launch Party and it was fun to watch his face.  Trevor was loving it.  They always throw in the adult humor which is great.  Brandon Mull is a kind, creative, family loving guy who just happens to write really great children's novels.

Time with Family

I never really gave much thought to what my family was doing together or what I might be missing because I live far away...until lately.  I know that the Vegas group get together for all kinds of reasons on any given day.  My parents came up for Kelseys birthday in January, for a surprise baby shower in Feb, and Storms birthday in March.  It was super fun to be with them and to be with Todd, Kelsey, and Storm.  I suddenly realized all the moments I had missed being away and how much I truly love my family.  I can't change where I live but I can reach out more to people near and far.  Glad we have had time together.
