My friend Shelby came for a visit and mentioned that she did singing/story time with her son's class. She wore funny hats that went with the themes being taught. Isn't that a brilliant idea? I thought so. I didn't wear any funny hats, but today was my first Fun Friday.
We sang:
Oh hear we have a quiet class, learning class, singing class (tune of Oh do you see the muffin man)
I go to school with a boy named_______(tune of what do you do with a drunken sailor)
Every week has seven days...(tune of 10 little Indians)
and Black Socks by Bill Harley (this one is hilarious)
We talked about being good listeners and I read "The Cat Who Wore a Pot on Her Head" by Jan Slepian and Ann Seidler.
I remember why I loved teaching so much. It was great fun!
